World Champion Track Cyclist to Help Kids Learn to Ride

If you ask the team that organizes the pro race every year what they like best about it, you’d probably expect to hear replies like “The speed!” “The crowds!” “The excitement!” And you would.

What they might not tell you is they get just as excited about the series of Learn to Ride sessions that lead up to the big race. Over the years, we’ve helped hundreds of new riders shed their training wheels and learn to ride on two wheels.

We kick off this year’s Learn to Ride series tomorrow night with an at-capacity session of 40 children. And we even have a little something special planned for the kids in this first session: Hands on instruction from local professional racer Paige Shumskas and world champion Rebecca Wiasak from Fearless Femmes Racing.

Paige is a senior at Central Bucks East High School and just returned from racing professionally in Europe. Rebecca is from Australia and was the 2015 & 2016 World Champion in Individual Pursuit (Track). She has Australian records in individual and team pursuit (track).

Paige and Rebecca will join race director John Eustice, one of the first American cyclists to break into the world of European pro cycling.

The Thompson Bucks County Classic Learn to Ride series is sponsored and supported by Doylestown Bike Works, the Borough of Doylestown and Women Bike DTown.
