Racer Q&A: Edward Greene

What was your first bike?
Trek 1000 with Red/White flames.

What inspired you to become a professional bike racer? 
My job prospects after University were less fun than bike riding. 

Describe the best thing about being a professional cyclist?
Riding up quiet mountain roads.

Describe the worst thing about being a professional cyclist?
Being poor.

What do your friends and family think about your career as a pro cyclist?
They are very supportive but they think I’m crazy.

What’s something most people don’t know about being a pro cyclist?
You don’t need to train 6hrs a day. 

What’s the one race or ride that is on your bucket list?
The Tour of Rwanda. One of Africa’s toughest but best races. It’s a country I have always wanted to visit. 

Describe the funniest moment you’ve experienced in a race.
My GoPro falling out of the team car during Stage 1 of a 4 Stage race. I didn’t know it at the time but the hunt for the camera after the stage was awesome. By some miracle we found it. 

What should spectators expect to see in the criterium?
Bikes leaning over at angles that you wouldn’t believe. 

Shaved legs or winter coat? 
Shaved legs, no question.
