For AWeber, Sponsorship is About Community...and the Socks

News

We caught up with new sponsor AWeber CMO, Erik Harbison, who talked to us about the email marketing leader's support for the Thompson Bucks County Classic. The company's involvement with the Philadelphia-area bike community starts with AWeber's founder, Tom Kulzer, and his passion for cycling.  He raced competitive for a time near the inception of the company eighteen years ago and remains an enthusiast for cycling today.

You have lots of options as to where to put your dollars in our community. Why this event/cause?

AWeber has become a destination employer. We love to find and hire local talent.  We saw this event as a great way to connect with our local business neighbors and support an event that is bringing together a great community.

What do you hope the participants gain or benefit from your involvement in this race?

Awareness of our company, that we're a local, multi-year Best Places To Work Winner, and love to help small business grow through email marketing.

What do you hope to gain or benefit from sponsoring this race?

Increase our awareness within the Bucks county region. Meet local businesses, families, professionals. Start building great relationships with our business neighbors.

Are many of your employees involved in the biking community? How do you support their passions for biking?

We have a few team members that are active bikers.  We actually provide extremely comfortable racing socks as giveaways to our team members, customers and people we meet at events…like this one.  This idea came from our CEO/Founder, Tom Kulzer, who was biked competitively when starting the business.

Will any of your employees or leadership be at the race site? If so, what will they be doing?

We will have several team members at the event.  We'll be looking to build relationships, support the racers, meet the attendees and local businesses. And, giving away some free swag at our booths.

How long has AWeber been involved with the Philadelphia-area bike community?

AWeber's involvement with the Philadelphia-area bike community has been via our founder, Tom Kulzer, and his passion for cycling.  He raced competitive for a time near the inception of the company eighteen years ago and remains an enthusiast for cycling today.
